Q: I am a senior, covered by
Medicare parts A and B. I pay the 20% balance of bills myself. I need
temporary coverage for the balance for Sept. 2006, to satisfy a rule
imposed by the artists residency in France I will attend for that
month. The foreign artists must show proof of health insurance. The
residency is run by UNESCO. What is the cheapest way I can buy the
month's coverage?
A: The "Liaison International" or
similar plan would seem to be ideal. A listing of international short
term health insurance policies can be found at
http://FreedomBenefits.net/international-health-insurance.htm . All are
fast, reputable and inexpensive. This coverage is available to seniors
on Medicare as well as younger applicants.
