Q: I am currently pregnant, due in August, and am looking for a policy that would include coverage for birth-related emergencies during the time of the policy when I come from London to New York.
A: In the U.S., a pregnant woman is not eligible for regular commercial health insurance that covers pregnancy until the post-partum examination. Exceptions include employer-provided group health insurance and travel insurance. An short term international travel policy is available, but will limit or exclude coverage for your pre-existing medical conditions including pregnancy-related issues.
