Q: My stepson is currently visiting us from the UK he has been staying with us for 3 months now. We currently subscribe to a travel insurance policy for him, but were wondering if there is a short term health plan that he would be eligible for. He is planning on staying for a further two months. He is 20 years, he is not eligible to join my husbands group policy as a dependant.

A: Yes, he would be eligible for an international short term medical insurance policy since U.S. is not considered his permanent home. The best choice would probably be the "Liaison International" policy at FreedomBenefits.net. This policy can be issues from 5 days to 3 years and is a high quality coverage and a market share leader for exactly this type of situation.
