Q: Do all health insurance policies have an application fee?
A: Maybe not all, but most individual and group health insurance policies have an application fee built into the quoted premium cost. The most common application fee for health insurance is $20. The insurance underwriters use this fee to determine whether an applicant is "serious" about applying for coverage before they allocate their time and resources tot he application. An application that is submitted without a fee is not processed. One notable exception is supplemental health insurance. The policies like "Basic Health Insurance" usually have no application fee
