Sam's Club health insurance

Q: I received an e-mail that says "Sam's Club, the members-only warehouse, is now offering health insurance to small-business members. The company is touting savings of at least 20 percent and as much as 50 percent off group rates for small employers. Check your local store for details and pass this exciting news to your company! If you're seeking an individual or family plan, we have provided the link below to help you determine the best plan with the lowest price available from top health insurance Providers". Does Sam's Club really sell discounted health insurance or is this a scam?

A: No, but you are not the only one confused. We have received many questions related to a large ongoing e-mail spam campaign. You can easily see that this is just a scam because the link in the e-mail is not connected to Sam's Club but simply redirects you to another Website that sells full priced health insurance. It is also important to know that health insurance is priced the same no matter where you but it from. Rates are the same for all similarly situated policyholders. There are no "discounters" of any health insurance. This campaign is not related in any way to FreedomBenefits.net, the national distributor of low cost health insurance that is supported by OnlineAdviser.
