How do I get international health insurance coverage from Fortis?
A:
All of the group and individual insurance plans from Assurant Health (formerly Fortis) provide worldwide coverage. (Note that the short term and student health insurance plans are not international). Just submit a request for an enrollment kit at http://www.freedombenefits.net/Fortis-Time-Assurant-Health-insurance-quote.htm . Fax in the 2-page application with payment authorization to bind coverage immediately. Allow enough time for the application process; approval takes about 10 days and the policy delivery can take about three weeks.
