Q: How do I compare the cost of Blue Choice with Secure STM 3 year plan?

A: Rates for Secure STM are easily available online at . There is a link at the top that says "Quote / Compare / Apply". Unfortunately, Blue Choice rates are not available online. You must call the administrator for your state's Blue cross / Blue Shield plan. You can expect the Secure STM rates to be lower because, assuming other factors are equal, short term medical insurance is almost always less expensive than permanent coverage. Since less than 1 in 100 individual health plan members keeps the same policy for more than three years anyway, this is a logical way to save on premiums and still get excellent coverage.
